Joanna Stewart

Joanna Stewart is a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution practice specialising in commercial litigation and contentious employment actions.

Joanna specialises in high-value commercial disputes representing commercial and private clients in the joint venture and shareholder disputes, property-related disputes and general contractual disputes including debt recovery and contentious employment actions.

Joanna has experience representing both Claimants and Defendants in contentious matters in the DIFC Courts, the onshore Dubai Courts and Labour Courts as well as the enforcement of foreign awards. She also regularly advises clients in arbitrations under the DIFC-LCIA, ICC and DIAC Rules.

Joanna is an experienced litigator having trained and qualified at the pre-eminent litigation firm in Scotland. Prior to joining Davidson & Co, Joanna successful defended major insurers and commercial clients in the Sheriff’s Court and Court of Session. She has excellent advocacy skills having regularly appeared at the Sheriff Court against solicitors and Counsel in a variety of actions.

Joanna was shortlisted and selected as runner-up for the Rising Star Award at the Middle East Legal Awards in 2021.
